Keen's Mature Cheddar (unpasturised) 150g

Sweet and strong, nutty and moreish. This Mature Unpasteurised Cheddar crumbles in the hand yet melts in the mouth.

Keens are one of only a small handful of those who have survived the test of time and are making traditional cheddar the way it should be, with raw unpasteurised milk from grass fed cows living on their own farm.

Their ladies spend most of their days living in their 500 acre back yard and dining on lush Somerset pastures, their precious milk is then transported a mere 50 yards to the dairy where the magic of true cheddaring happens and the cheese then lives, maturing for up to 18 months.

Superb soft cheese made with an extra helping of cream. It is based on the famous French cheese Chaource and has a similar buttery paste with a dense, rich flavour.

As the cheese matures it develops an earthy aroma and a deeper, fuller taste. The cheese itself is named after a village in South Oxfordshire which is very close to the Nettlebed Creamery where it is made. It has won various accolades including Best Organic Cheese and Best Soft Cheese at the British Cheese Awards.

The combination of these two award-winning cheeses are complimented by oatcakes, the freshness of apple, walnuts and Tracklement's sticky fig jam.
